When the Meybo HSX frames were released in 2020, they revolutionised the BMX race frame market. Initially offered, and still continues to be, in an aluminium format, for 2022 Meybo have replicated these frames in carbon fibre. The advantages of carbon fibre are well known, and the BMX race world is embracing its technology. Although this might be Meybo’s first carbon frame, this company has developed a reputation for quality BMX racing product and of course, having some of the world’s best elite racers on their team pays enormous dividends when it comes to product development and testing. The qualities that riders look most for in frame performance can all be found in the carbon HSX frame. One of these qualities high on the list is the transmission of every power stroke from the crank through the drivetrain and eventually to the surface to propel you forward. With UD Carbon formed tubes providing 30% more stiffness over alloy, there’s an obvious and immediate performance advantage in this area of bottom bracket, through the chainstays and into the rear dropouts. Another feature found on this frame that is shared with it’s alloy brother is the fixed rear dropout set up. Combined with the chain tensioner system, dropping the rear wheel in and out is a breeze, meaning gear changes are lightning fast. As is changing a wheel out should you suffer a flat.

The disc only frame has a dedicated caliper mount which is light years ahead of an axle mounted system. This set up works with the fixed rear end and chain tensioner to make wheel changing super easy and quick. Read below for further technical details.
